Sailing: It's the Little Things

Have you ever been on a cruise? Australia is one of the fastest growing cruise markets in the world, and there are many cruise converts who take multiple trips a year. However, it’s certainly not for everyone. Here's an article I wrote for Mariner Boating which looks at some differences between a yachting holiday and a holiday aboard a cruise ship. Which would you prefer?

Tying the Knot, Croatian Style

"Getting hitched in Croatia involves some of the more familiar wedding traditions: (usually) a white dress, a church wedding, a reception with lots of food and alcohol, dancing and the throwing of the bouquet. However, these are often coupled with some more unique, and fun, wedding traditions..."

I love my job! There's always something new to learn about the world - in this case, Croatian weddings, in an article for Mariner Boating

From Strangers to Friends

"I was nervous. Was this going to be one of the best experiences of my life – or one of the worst?
Here I was, having flown halfway across the world, about to embark on a two-week yachting tour in a fleet of six yachts, sharing a living space the size of a small caravan with three people I had never met before. Right. Deep breath. You’ve got this."

Sailing the stunning Croatian coast sounds idyllic - but would you share a yacht with total strangers? Here's a blog post I edited which gives some insights into the wonderful experiences you can have as a solo traveler.

Do You Eat Seasonally?

It's almost spring and time to get the veggie garden in order. Do you eat seasonal produce? Eating fruit and vegetables when they are in season is a healthy, eco-friendly and (usually) cheap way to enjoy delicious local produce while supporting local producers and businesses. Here's an article I wrote for Northpoint Apartments about the benefits of eating seasonally.

Getting Technical

I've been asked to write a monthly article for Joyer IT, so I've had to brush up on all things technical. Here are a couple I've written recently:

Drupal or Wordpress: Does it Matter?
Website Hacking: Bandaids Don't Work
There's Definitely an App for That

Running is the new Black

Do you run? I'll admit I enjoy a Saturday parkrun when it isn't netball season. Slow and steady is my pace.

The parkun concept has taken off all over the world. It's a great, free activity connecting people of all walks - and runs - of life, in local communities. Have you tried your local parkrun?

Here's a recent article I wrote for Northpoint Apartments:

What's on Your Bucket List?

I have to admit I've never had a bucket list. Sure, there are things I'd like to do, and places I'd like to explore, but I don't want to shape my future into a wish list. The world is full of wonderful places, all sorts of potential experiences, and endless possibilities. I'm content to see where life's road leads, and focus on being content in the here and now. That being said, if I WERE to have a bucket list, it's highly likely it would include some of the world's most beautiful destinations, such as the island of Mallorca, off the Spanish coast. Here's an article I wrote about Mallorca for Mariner Boating Holidays: Add Mallorca to Your Bucket List
