Website copy, Joyer design, Nov 2012

Client: Joyer Design
Brief: Joyer needed a copywriter to prepare copy for a website they were designing. I wrote copy for several web pages for Joyer's client, Coast South West Rocks, a new housing development on the mid-north coast of NSW.

Below is a sample of the copy I wrote. The website has not been made live as yet.

Less than six hours from Sydney, and within commuting-distance to several large, mid-north coast towns, South West Rocks is the idea coastal retreat. Combining the atmosphere of a seaside village with all the mod cons, it’s a perfect location for those wanting an active, family-oriented lifestyle or the peace and quiet of an ocean-side retirement.

The Coast development is situated in an attractive, convenient location adjacent to the South West Rocks golf course and just 1.5km from the beach. Shops and local amenities are only minutes away.

South West Rocks

The town itself boasts a growing primary school with a great reputation, and is an expanding area for both young families and older retirees. Health amenities include five medical centres, three pharmacies, two dentists and an ambulance station, with plenty of additional options located in Kempsey, just a 20 minute drive away.

South West Rocks boasts a popular country club, which is a hub for local community activities. The South West Rocks Surf Club is renowned in the region, and regularly hosts NSW championship events.

The region

The large regional town of Kempsey is just a 20-minute drive away, and the city of Port Macquarie is an easy 60-minute drive. The area is set to benefit from a significant number of Government projects which are not only stimulating the economy but providing a major boost to infrastructure and resources in the area.

Projects which will benefit the area include:

  • Kempsey By-Pass: A $618 million project which will significantly reduce travel times between South West Rocks, Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
  • Pacific Highway Upgrade: With a $35 million government contribution, the upgrade of the highway will greatly reduce travel times between South West Rocks and Port Macquarie.
  • Kempsey Hospital: An $80 million upgrade project which will be completed by 2016.
  • Port Macquarie Hospital: A $110 million upgrade which will significantly expand the hospital, due to be completed in 2015.
  • Port Macquarie airport: A $5 million upgrade will see a larger runway allowing interstate jets to land in the area. There are already regular flights each day from Brisbane and Sydney.
